Corozal Police report that on Wednesday, August 19th at about 5:39 PM they were in the village of Chan Chen conducting a search inside the cemetery when they found a plastic bag containing 99 live rounds of 5.56 NATO ammunition.
These rounds are well known for being used by the US Military in their M-16 Assault Rifles.
There was no one in the area at the time of the search, therefore the ammunition was taken back to the Corozal Police Station and labeled as found property.
