A Northside Belize City gun theft occurred over the Easter weekend, prompting police investigations in both cases.
Late on Easter Monday, police responded to a break-in. This incident took place at a residence near the corner of New Road and Victoria Street.
A 9mm Glock pistol, two magazines, and 40 live rounds were stolen. The total value of the items is estimated at $5,000 BZD.
When Crime Investigation Branch (CIB) officers arrived, they spoke with the homeowner. The 42-year-old businessman told officers the burglary occurred before the night of April 21, 2025.
According to him, someone broke into the upper flat of his cream-colored, two-story concrete home. The intruder gained access by prying open a burglar bar on a southern window.
Scenes of Crime personnel later processed the location. They confirmed the point of entry and documented the missing firearm and ammunition.
As of now, no suspects have been identified. However, the investigation continues as police gather leads.
