Shyne Barrow disavowed by UDP leadership in a statement that strongly rejects his recent claims and actions.
The United Democratic Party officially declared that Barrow no longer holds any position within the party. According to the release, he cannot speak or act on its behalf.
Furthermore, the UDP said his use of titles like “Honourable,” “Leader of the Opposition,” or “Party Leader” is wrong. The party stressed that Barrow currently holds no such titles.
In addition, the statement warned that Barrow’s comments should not be seen as official UDP positions. The party firmly stated, “Mr. Barrow is not the voice or face of the UDP.”
The UDP also addressed Barrow’s connection to the Mesopotamia constituency. It said he does not have the right to represent the party there. The release asked anyone aware of unauthorized actions to contact the Secretary General.
This public rejection came after Barrow announced he would stay on as UDP leader. He claimed the party had gone “dormant” and lacked unity, vision, and structure.
However, the UDP’s leadership clearly disagrees and has had Shyne Barrow disavowed. Their statement leaves no room for confusion. Barrow is not part of the official leadership.
Now, the party is preparing for its National Convention. Leaders aim to restore order, strengthen party unity, and move forward with clear direction.
As internal tensions continue, this bold move draws a line. The UDP has chosen to cut ties with Barrow and focus on rebuilding.
