Belizean Authorities report that they are currently investigating the whereabouts of 3 Mexican nationals who have reportedly escaped from a Quarantine Center.
According to the Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams, the Mexicans who were detained on Thursday by the Belize Coast Guard near Bacalar Chico after they were found attempting to enter the country of Belize illegally, have mysteriously disappeared from the Quarantine Center and are believed to have gone back to Mexico.
The Quarantine Center was reportedly being guarded by members of the Belize Defense Force at the time of the escape.
Both the Belize Police Department and the Belize Defense Force are conducting an internal investigation into the matter.
The Mexican Trio were reportedly to be detained at the Quarantine Center for fourteen days before appearing before a Court Magistrate to answer to the charges of Attempting to Illegally Enter The Country.
