Sources within the Corozal Police Department have notified us that Community Supermarket, located in Calcutta Village, was robbed tonight by three men.
According to our source, the female owner of the supermarket reported that around 7:15 PM on Friday, September 4th, her family was getting ready to close the business for the night when 3 men rushed into the store, 2 of them wielding firearms, and demanded everyone to lay down on the floor.
One of the armed robbers is reported to have stayed at the entrance to keep watch, meanwhile the 2nd armed robber held the gun up to the business owners 16-year-old son.
Meanwhile, the 3rd robber was reported to have gone behind the counter and emptied the cash drawers.
According to the Corozal Police, the owners of Community Supermarket report that the armed robbers managed to take about $1000 in Belize Currency of various denominations and 1 Black in color Samsung S9+ valued at $1200.
Corozal Police are investigating into the matter.
