Orange Walk police report that they have three men in custody in relation to the jet plane that landed early Sunday Morning near the south end of Shipyard Village in the Orange Walk District.
The owner of the excavator and two others including a Mennonite have been detained for questioning.
The Commissioner of Police Chester Williams said they were tracking the jet.
At the scene, police found an excavator, a bulldozer, and a tractor which was used to bury the jet.
Commissioner Williams says at this point they are trying to ascertain who is the owner of the land in which the jet landed.
Police believe that after the jet landed, it was dragged to where it was found but was dismantled before it was buried.
Police also believe that the hole where the jet was buried had been prepared before the jet landed.
Commissioner Williams says they believe the drugs is no longer in the country.
It is expected that these three men that are in police custody can actually shed some light into the investigation.
