A deadly traffic accident in the Corozal District has claimed the life of one man and left another injured. The crash occurred around 3 p.m. on Wednesday along Sarteneja Road when brothers Gaspar and Santiago Cantun were traveling in a Chevy Tracker.
According to reports, Gaspar lost control of the vehicle, causing it to flip multiple times. Emergency responders rushed both men to the Corozal Community Hospital, where Gaspar later succumbed to his injuries. Santiago was treated for his injuries and has since been released.
Authorities revealed that the vehicle had an expired license plate at the time of the accident. Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
