Police have arrested Ashton Giovann Cal, 21, a shop attendant from Caye Caulker Village, for the murder of Romualdo Vasquez, 51. The fatal stabbing happened on Wednesday night, March 5, 2025, on West San Martin Street in Trial Farm Village, Orange Walk.
Authorities took Ashton Giovann Cal into custody and formally charged him with murder on Saturday, March 8. Investigators are still searching for a motive as they follow several leads.
Vasquez’s murder has shaken the local taxi community, especially his colleagues at the bus terminal taxi stand. Many are mourning his tragic loss.
