A Belize City burglary left a business owner with nearly $1,000 in damages after her home was broken into. On March 14, 2025, around 4:50 p.m., Natasha Miles, 38, reported the incident at Precinct 2 Crimes Investigation Branch.

Miles told police she had left her house in the care of her carpenter, securing it before leaving on March 13. When she returned the next afternoon, she found two mahogany doors, two door locks, two plycem sheets, and an aluminum window damaged, totaling $990. She also noticed a small black fan missing.

Police investigated and found the burglar had entered by breaking the lower part of the back door. Officers took pictures, processed the scene, and interviewed a witness who identified Breth-Tesha Alex Copious as the suspect. Security footage also confirmed the witness’s statement.

Police visited Copious’ home on Raleigh Street, informed her of the report, and detained her. She was later charged with burglary and damage to property.

On March 15, Copious appeared in court without legal representation. She pleaded not guilty to both charges. The Senior Magistrate granted her bail at $2,000 per charge, with one surety of the same amount.
