A Belize City fatal shooting on Saturday night left a fisherman dead on Electric Avenue. Police responded to reports of gunfire at 8:27 PM and arrived at a mechanic shop near the corner of Electric Avenue and McKay Boulevard.
Inside the yard, officers found 34-year-old Elvis Aldana, a fisherman from Electric Avenue, lying motionless. He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
According to initial investigations, Aldana was outside at around 8:20 PM when an unidentified Hispanic male approached him. The suspect, wearing a dark grey T-shirt and black shorts, pulled out a firearm and fired several shots. After the attack, he fled down Electric Avenue toward the Complex Building.
Crime scene technicians recovered several expended shell casings, confirming multiple shots were fired. Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage and gathering witness statements to identify the shooter.
