The Belize Medical & Dental Association has sent out a press release urging the Government of Belize to implement further restrictions to help battle the rising of COVID-19 cases.
In the press release, the BMDA claim that they do not believe a complete lockdown is in order but in order to take back the control they are requesting that the GOB implement the following:
- Curfew be extended from 7 PM to 5 AM daily.
- No indoor dining.
- Reclosure of bars and casinos.
- Strict supervision of public transportation to ensure safety measures are implemented.
- Encourage work from home whenever possible.
- Increase of testing at job sites.
- No face to face learning for students aged 12 to 17 are fully vaccinated.
- No face to face learning for preschool and primary school students until the third wave has passed.
- Insist that all frontline workers be vaccinated or get tested.
