Update (Sep. 28th, 2021): Corozal Police report that 32-year-old Xaibe Village resident Abel Cowo has been arrested and charged in connection to the shooting death of Aldo Cowo.
Corozal Police report that a 28-year-old, identified as Aldo Cowo of the Baeza Layout area of Corozal Town was executed on Sunday, September 26th in front of his mother and child.
According to the report made by Cowo’s mother, she was sitting down with her son and her granddaughter outside of their house, she was having a conversation with her son when a male came out of some nearby bushes and fired a single shot from a shotgun hitting him in the head.
Cowo reportedly died on the spot.
Police received a description of the shooter and have since begun a manhunt but have yet to find the described male.
Corozal Police claim that there is currently no known motive for the crime committed and the victim’s mother claimed that the shooter did not say anything to Cowo before shooting him, he just came out of the bushes, shot him, and immediately fled the area.
