At sometime on the evening of Tuesday, June 9th, the owner of Huan Huan Supermarket along with 2 men sitting outside the store, located on College Road in Corozal Town, were robbed at gunpoint by two men wearing rags over their faces.
As seen on surveillance footage gotten from the Supermarket, two men were seen entering the store wearing rags over their faces but due to the mandatory regulation stating anyone outside of their home must wear some sort of face-covering to help stop the spread of the COVID-19, nobody suspected that the men entering the store were there to rob the place.
That is until one of the men pulled out a handgun and aimed it at the owner of Huang Huang Supermarket, that is when the second robber made his way behind the counter and began emptying all of the money from both cash drawers into his backpack.
Meanwhile, the gun-wielding robber began to make his way back outside where he robbed two men who were sitting on a bench in front of the supermarket of all their belongings, but not before kicking a male customer, who was in front of the counter near the entrance of the supermarket, on the back causing him to fall to the ground.
Both masked robbers are then seen fleeing the scene on foot running towards Pot Saul Street.
It is unknown as to what all the robbers manage to steal or whether police have been able to apprehend them but we believe the Commissioner of Police should be making a Press Release shortly with more information on the case.
The video footage of the robbery can be found below.
