The Gilroy Usher Jr. aggravated assault case is making headlines. The 44-year-old lawyer faces allegations of trying to run over his sister, Monica Usher, with a Ford F150 pickup. Today, he appeared in court to answer an aggravated assault charge.
Usher Jr., son of Port Loyola Area Representative Gilroy Usher Sr., pleaded not guilty before a Senior Magistrate. The court set bail at $2,000 with one surety of the same amount. Strict conditions prevent him from contacting his sister, other family members, or prosecution witnesses. He must also stay at least 25 feet away from her.
His next court date is May 5, 2025. Before posting bail, he had to clear a $50 fine from a 2017 traffic conviction. Outside court, Usher Jr. called the accusations false and described the case as “an ongoing family issue.” The long-standing feud between him and his siblings continues to escalate.
