Authorities are investigating an armed robbery that occurred on Wednesday evening at Estelle’s Airport Hotel located in Ladyville.
According to the reports, Dodlie Estelle and his wife were at their home/business when a man arrived at around 5:00 pm asking if there were any rooms available.
Shortly after, two other men wielding guns entered the business.
The robbers demanded money from the Estelles’ and when Dodlie told them that he had none, one of the robbers shot him.
The robbers then managed to take $500 from the business before making their escape in a vehicle.
Belize City Police were able to intercept the vehicle shortly after and have detained the four men who were inside.
Dodlie Estelle is reported to have been admitted to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he is currently being treated.
It’s reported that he is in stable condition.
