Jose Luis Ramos, a 48-year-old Honduran national living in Southside Belize City, has been sentenced to five months in prison for inappropriate contact with a minor.
The incident occurred on January 22, 2025, when an eight-year-old girl was sent to a local shop. Authorities say Ramos admitted to wrongdoing and pleaded guilty on January 28, 2025.
The Senior Magistrate of Court #2 initially considered a six-month sentence per charge, running concurrently. However, due to Ramos’s guilty plea and lack of prior convictions, a one-month deduction was applied for time served.
Jose Luis Ramos attempted to defend his actions by claiming he was intoxicated at the time.
