An audit at Belize Telemedia Limited has reportedly revealed more personal expenses incurred by its former Chairman Nestor Vasquez with charges to the company’s credit card exceeding half a million dollars.
The total owed to BTL by Vasquez is eight hundred and fifty-nine thousand one hundred and ninety-seven dollars and eighty-seven cents ($859,197.87).
Of this amount, six hundred and eighty-four thousand one hundred and ninety-seven dollars and sixty-nine cents ($684,197.69) were credit card charges while one hundred and twenty-two thousand six hundred and eleven dollars and fifty-nine cents ($122,611.59) are for unpaid telephone and internet bills for Tropical Vision (Channel 7).
It also includes fuel charges of twenty-nine thousand two hundred and thirty-one dollars and seventy-five cents ($29,231.75) and insurance premiums for twenty-two thousand nine hundred and fifty-six dollars ($22,956).
Vasquez has reportedly repaid one hundred and sixty-eight thousand nine hundred and forty-five dollars and forty cents through salary deductions.
