Toledo Police are investigating a chopping incident that occured on the afternoon of Tuesday, August 11th in the downtown area of Punta Gorda.
According to the report, 38-year-old Derick Arnold was riding his bicycle while holding a machete in one hand and following his child’s mother and a man who was with her, identified as 35-year-old Moses Varo.
Arnold was then seen advancing towards Varro with the machete in his hand and attempting to attack Varro with it but Varro reportedly managed to take the machete away from Arnold and chop him with it.
Derick Arnold was admitted to the Punta Gorda Hospital with chop wounds to his left hand, left pinky finger, right shoulder and forehead.
Meanwhile, Moses Varro was detained by Toledo Police while they investigate into the matter.
