Placencia Guest House Vandalized, Police Investigation Underway

A Placencia guest house became the target of vandalism after two guests allegedly trashed an upgraded oceanfront cabana. Authorities have launched an investigation.

Shellyjay Hyde, the property manager of Julia’s Guest House, exposed the incident on Facebook. She posted shocking images of dark stains, possibly hair dye, smeared across walls, doors, and furniture. Surveillance footage also captured the two women allegedly responsible.

The guests checked in on March 19 and planned to stay until April 2. Despite their rude behavior, Hyde upgraded them to an oceanfront cabana in good faith. However, when they needed to return to their original room or check out, they allegedly destroyed the unit instead.

Hyde reported the incident to the police and urged resort owners and locals to help identify and locate the women. One of the suspects has since been identified as Kelly Jean Adriance.

The Placencia tourism community quickly responded, sharing Hyde’s post and calling for stricter measures to hold guests accountable. Many believe stronger policies are necessary to prevent similar incidents in the future.

As police continue their investigation, authorities encourage anyone with information to come forward. Local businesses remain on high alert, ensuring their properties and staff stay protected from destructive guests.
