Corozal Town police are investigating a road incident that happened on Friday afternoon at around 2:30 PM.
According to reports, Forty-eight-year-old Amanda Montejo, a psychiatric nurse of Corozal Town was reversing her grey Ford Escape SUV in a public parking lot when she accidentally hit an elderly man crossing behind the vehicle.
Montejo immediately transported the man, identified as seventy-year-old Antonio Williams of Ranchito Village to the Corozal Community Hospital.
By 3:45 PM, Williams was reported to have been discharged from the hospital but a few hours later at around 7:40 PM, he was taken back to the hospital after showing signs of his health declining.
Anthony Williams reportedly died while being treated for the second time.
Police are investigating the matter of whether he succumbed to injuries caused by the traffic accident or whether he was suffering from an undiagnosed illness.
