The Belize Police Department reports that they have arrested and charged a Police Officer from Belmopan for Drug Trafficking.
According to the report made by Orange Walk Police, they were conducting a mobile checkpoint at the Tower Hill Bridge when they stopped a car driven by Belmopan Police Officer, Rosendo Joel Cantun.
Upon searching the vehicle, a black plastic bag was found containing 24 parcels of marijuana.
33-year-old, Cantun was escorted to the Orange Walk Police Station where the drugs were weighed to a total of 30 pounds and charged for the offense of Possession of a Controlled Drug with Intent to Supply to another.
