Members of the Mennonite Community working in the poultry sector have been forced to put down a large portion of their expensive breeder flocks of chickens producing hatching eggs.
One business says they were forced to put down half of their breeder flock as well as destroy a huge amount of eggs being incubated due to the lack of sales during this COVID-19 Pandemic.
Fresh Produce farmers are also claiming that they are forced to leave a majority of their vegetables to dry out in the fields due to a shortage of sales.
