A robbery near Cam-Fong Restaurant in Belmopan left a Big H Company employee shaken after an armed thief stole cash and a phone.
The crime happened around 1:50 PM on Saturday. The victim, an employee of Big H Company, was parked outside Cam-Fong Restaurant on Constitution Drive. Two co-workers went inside to place an order while he stayed in the truck.
As he reached for money in his bag, a man suddenly opened the passenger door and pointed a gun at him. The suspect wore a black helmet that hid his face. Speaking in Spanish, he warned the victim not to move or he would be shot.
A second suspect, also in a full-face helmet, waited nearby on a black motorcycle. The armed man demanded sales money, but the victim said the cash was locked in a safe. Instead, the thief took the $5 the victim had and a $300 phone belonging to a co-worker.
The suspects fled on the motorcycle. Police continue investigating the robbery near Cam-Fong Restaurant and urge anyone with information to come forward.
