The Royal Kahal closure left guests scrambling after the resort suddenly announced a temporary shutdown on Friday. Many had to find alternative accommodations.
An email sent to guests revealed that the resort was “ordered to close temporarily.” Some travelers were already en route to Belize. The message stated that this was “completely unexpected” and apologized for the inconvenience. The resort offered only full refunds and no alternative stay options.
Guests already at Royal Kahal were relocated. Reports say security surrounded the hotel on Friday as the closure took effect.
This comes just 15 days after three American women—Kaoutar Naqqad, Imane Mallah, and Wafae El Arar—were found dead in their room. Their cause of death remains unknown.
On Friday, the victims’ families issued a statement calling for a full investigation.
The circumstances remain unclear and suspicious. We urge authorities in Belize and the U.S. to ensure transparency and justice.
The sudden Royal Kahal closure raises questions, and investigations into the deaths continue.
