San Pedro police arrested a San Pedro assault suspect after a US national reported an attack on March 22, 2025.
The woman told police that on the night of March 20, she and her brother met a man who introduced himself as “Omar” at Wayo’s Bar and Grill. They socialized and visited several other locations together.
Around 3:00 a.m. on March 21, they returned to their hotel, where she and “Omar” sat on the beachfront. When her brother went inside, she accepted a ride from him. He drove her north of the island to a wooden gazebo over the sea, where the alleged assault occurred before he brought her back to the hotel.
Following her report, police gathered statements and conducted a medical examination on March 21, confirming her injuries. Investigators reviewed surveillance footage and identified the suspect as Oscar Noe Nal, also known as “Omar Nal,” a 35-year-old Belizean laborer from San Mateo, San Pedro Town. Authorities recovered his clothing and conducted an identification parade on March 22, where the victim confirmed his identity.
On Sunday, March 23, police officially charged the San Pedro assault suspect in connection with the incident.
