A San Pedro man was detained after bystanders intervened in a concerning situation involving a young girl at a local store. Authorities are investigating the incident.
According to police, an 8-year-old had been sent to La Dispensa del Hogar to buy baking soda when a 23-year-old man approached her. His actions made her uncomfortable, and she quickly returned home to tell her mother.
The child’s mother took her back to the store, where the girl pointed out the man. When confronted, he apologized before attempting to leave.
Concerned bystanders stepped in and prevented the San Pedro man from leaving until police arrived.
Authorities have not yet confirmed any charges, but investigations remain ongoing.
