The Shyne Barrow Facebook account has been permanently disabled, prompting the former Opposition Leader to call out Meta and its CEO, Mark Zuckerberg. Despite several attempts to appeal, Barrow’s accounts remain offline, and his frustration continues to grow.
On social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Barrow posted screenshots showing Facebook’s decision to disable his accounts. According to the platform, his activity allegedly violated their Community Standards. Initially, the platform suspended the account. Later, however, it issued a final decision to permanently disable it, denying any further appeals.
In one screenshot, Facebook clearly states, “Your Facebook account has been permanently disabled… we still found that your account, or activity on it, didn’t follow our Community Standards. You can’t request another review.” Another message gave Barrow 180 days to appeal the suspension of a separate account under the name “Moses Shyne Barrow.”
Barrow, visibly frustrated, added a caption alongside the screenshots:
“Who can help me? @facebook @meta @zuck does not believe I’m Shyne, and since Sunday they have permanently disabled my Facebook accounts.”
Dr. Shyne Barrow
The Shyne Barrow Facebook account dilemma raises questions about Meta’s appeals process, especially when public figures are involved. Barrow’s followers have also expressed concern, urging Meta to reconsider its decision and allow the former leader access to his official pages once again.
Meanwhile, Meta has yet to publicly respond. With no clear explanation provided and no path for further review, Barrow remains locked out of his accounts indefinitely. As the digital world becomes more central to public life, calls for greater transparency from tech giants like Meta are only growing louder.
