A small, single-engine, Mexican-flagged aircraft is reported to have made an emergency landing in the North Western part of Belize yesterday afternoon.
According to reports, it was not carrying anything illegal but the aircraft which landed in Blue Creek did not have a flight plan that allowed it to enter Belizean airspace.
Belizean Authorities report that all though the aircraft did not have anything illegal, when they conducted a search on the two Mexican crew members they found that the pilot was carrying a large sum of money.
Both Mexican crew members have since been detained and Belizean authorities are investigating into the matter.
