The Ministry of Health has released newly amended updates to the COVID-19 S.I. Regulations.
They have officially gone into effect today, Monday, August 23rd, 2021.
- Employees of the Belize Post Office and employees at any Port in Belize have been added to the list of frontline workers.
- Funerals are restricted to 10 members of the family, 1 officiant, and 1 essential mortuary staff.
- Funerals can be for no more than 1 hour and can only be held at the cemetery.
- No wakes or repasses are allowed.
- BPO’s are to operate at 50% capacity, privided that every person must be immunized.
- The special internal auditor for COVID-19 must submit a monthly written report detailing name and immunization status of every employee reporting to work.
- All Casino and Gaming Establishment Employees must be vaccinated.
- Only vaccinated persons will be allowed to enter Casinos / Gaming Establishments.
- Casinos / Gaming Establishments can only operate at a 50% capacity.
- Only properly ventilated, open air, outdoor, or all fresco Restaurants countrywide can be open and operate at a 75% seating capacity and by reservations only.
- The Belize District with the exception of Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker must offer outdoor dining only for no more than 50% of its outdoor seating capacity.
- No business can sell liquor during the hours of 6 PM to 4 AM the following morning.
- Businesses with a restaurant license can continue to serve alcohol past 6 PM.
