The Tracy Taegar-Panton UDP leader transition is now official. The United Democratic Party (UDP) has fully backed her to take over leadership. Party members gathered at the Biltmore today to discuss the party’s future after Moses ‘Shyne’ Barrow resigned.
In his resignation letter, Barrow stated he would pass leadership to Deputy Party Leader Hugo Patt. However, at today’s meeting, led by Panton, everyone agreed she should step up as leader. Patt also attended and supported the decision.
Panton confirmed a leadership convention will take place soon. However, she expects an endorsement rather than a contested race. She does not anticipate any challengers.
