As a result of a revised protocol made by the Government of Belize this week, all persons entering Belize legally or illegally are being swabbed and tested for the COVID-19.

The Ministry of Health reports that thanks to this newly revised protocol, they were able to detect a positive case in a 22-year-old female.
On Sunday, June 7th the 22-year-old, whose name has not been revealed, was found attempting to illegally enter the country of Belize along with her 1-year-old child and a 63-year-old female.
All three were immediately placed into the Quarantine Facility located in Punta Gorda Town where they were immediately tested for COVID-19.
The Ministry of Health is currently conducting a contact trace for anyone who may have come in contact with the trio.
