The Ministry of Health reports that 77 samples were processed today and 2 cases came back positive bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases in Belize to 30.
According to the Ministry of Health, the duo consisted of 1 male and 1 female, both Belizeans, who were caught entering Belize illegally via La Union.
The duo have been in mandatory quarantine since they got caught attempting to illegally enter the country.
There are currently 9 active cases within the country and all 9 positive cases have been under mandatory quarantine from the day they were tested.
At this important time when we are so close to returning back to normal, the Government of Belize pleads for all Belizeans to assist by reporting anyone found attempting to cross into Belize illegally and to make a citizens arrest if needed to keep them from entering the country until law enforcement agents can arrive.
