Orange Walk Police report that on Thursday, October 15th, during a routine checkpoint set up in front of the toll bridge in the Orange Walk District, they searched a Freightliner truck which led to the discovery of suspected cannabis.
The 22 parcels were found hidden inside a disconnected fuel tank that was mounted under the driver’s side.
The driver, 35-year-old Thomas Williams Bermudez of a Los Lagos, Belize District address, was arrested and charged for the offense of Possession of a Controlled Drug with Intent to Supply.
