Belize City, March 3, 2025 – Belize City Councillor Evan Boo-Boo Thompson defended himself after a viral video showed a recent altercation.
Thompson stated he was attacked first and acted in self-defense during the incident.
He emphasized that the footage lacks full context and does not show everything that happened.
Witnesses and law enforcement confirmed the other person as the aggressor, Evan Boo-Boo Thompson said.
He stressed that police never arrested or detained him in connection with the altercation.
Thompson apologized if the video created a negative impression among the public.
He clarified that the incident does not reflect on the Belize City Council or the PUP.
Authorities allowed him to press charges, but he chose not to pursue the case.
Thompson said his focus remains on serving Belize City residents and moving forward.
