Belize’s Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams has confirmed rumors going around that a Police Officer has been arrested for extortion.
According to Williams, an American national went into the Police Station and made a report claiming that an officer stationed at a check-point extorted him for not wearing a mask.
He reportedly gave the officer $300.
Two other officers were reported to have been at the check-point at the time and witnessed the incident but reportedly did not partake.
