On Tuesday, March 16th, 2021, a team of officers including the Commanders Operation Support Team and a team from the K9 Unit conducted an operation within Corozal District.
At about 10:00 AM, a search was conducted at the residence of Edwin Catzim, 20-year-old, Belizean Sales Clerk of Libertad Village, Corozal District.
After the search of the residence, nothing illegal was found.
However, searches were conducted in the yard and as a result, K9 Tyler indicated to a green Mazda Pick up truck that was parked in the yard.
A search was conducted on the vehicle and as a result, seven (7) parcels of cocaine were found in the left rear light and five (5) parcels were found on the right rear light of the vehicle, all amounting to (13.775) kilograms.
When officers asked Catzim who owns the truck, he stated that his brother Estuardo Marvin Rodriguez, 33-year-old, Belizean Farmer of Libertad Village, Corozal District is the owner.
Estuardo Marvin Rodriguez later arrive and produced the key for the truck and stated that he is in control of the vehicle.
Rodríguez was arrested and charged for the offense of “Possession of Controlled Drugs with Intent to Supply to Another”.
